About SUUQA Simad

Suuqa SIMAD is an innovative and dynamic two-day event meticulously designed to spotlight the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity emerging from SIMAD University’s alumni, startups, and affiliated enterprises. Set in the vibrant Beerta Benadir, Suuqa SIMAD serves as a catalyst for innovation, networking, and business development, providing a unique platform for showcasing groundbreaking ideas and fostering substantial industry connections.​​

History​

In 1998 SIMAD University, established as a beacon of learning and innovation, has consistently prioritized entrepreneurship as a key component of its educational agenda. The university's entrepreneurship initiatives stem from a commitment to foster a culture of self-reliance and innovation among its students and alumni. Over the years, SIMAD has launched numerous programs and platforms designed to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit, providing students with the resources, mentorship, and support needed to translate innovative ideas into successful businesses. These initiatives have not only contributed to the economic development of the region but have also positioned SIMAD University as a pivotal player in cultivating the next generation of entrepreneurs in Somalia.​

Beerta Nabada, also known as Peace Garden, is a serene and centrally located park in Mogadishu, renowned for its lush landscapes and tranquil atmosphere. The venue provides an ideal setting for events, with its spacious outdoor areas that can accommodate large gatherings and exhibitions. Beerta Nabada has been a symbol of peace and renewal in the city, making it a symbolic location for fostering community engagement and innovation.​

From the Airport Head southeast on Wadada Aadan Cadde for about 15 minutes, then turn left onto Wadada Janaraal Daa'uud. Continue straight to reach the entrance of Beerta Nabada on your right.​

From Hamarweyne District Take Wadada Soddonka northbound and turn right onto Wadada Janaraal Daa'uud. The park will be on your left after approximately 10 minutes.​
